Win $200 worth of sports equipment for your school!
Marina 2 Marina is a running event held in Picton which raises funds for various Marlborough community groups. This year it will be held on Saturday 9th October.
This year, the school with the most students entered will win a $200 voucher towards sports equipment for their school. When participants enter online, they are prompted to enter the name of the school they attend. The school with the most entries wins. We have a range of races to choose from, from a 2km kids dash around Picton Marina to our largest race, the 24km Link run.
Mr Stephens will be out there running the track and hopefully we will see lots of Witherlea students out there giving it a go!
Visit https://www.marina2marina.co.nz/ for more info and entry forms.

Hi Parents and Caregivers. Chris from Armourguard has offered a fundraising opportunity to Witherlea School. They are asking for 6 volunteers to do security (bag checks/crowd control-buddied with a guard) at the Tasman Rugby games. They will provide training/vests, etc. Pays $20 per hour (total per game with 6 helpers equates to $360/game). Anyone interested? You’ll get to watch the game for free!!
Game dates are:
Saturday 11th September against Wellington – 2pm kick off.
Sunday 3rd October against Southland – 430pm kick off
The Makos may have a semi final game in Blenheim which could be 16th or 17th of October. We will not know the details until the week before. If we do not play semi in Blenheim there is a possibility of a final which would be on Saturday the 24th at 730pm kick off.
If you are interested, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
We are having increasing numbers of children at school before 8:30am and some children arriving between 8:05am and 8:10am.
School opens at 8:30am: this is when the teachers are in class and can supervise – before this time it is not safe or practical for a school to have large numbers of students.
Before School Care operates so that working parents have somewhere to take their children up until 8:30am – school is not the place for this as there is NO supervision.
Parents will be notified via email and txt if their children are here before 8:20am so that they can make other arrangements.
This is important for the health and safety of your children and our learners.
