Friends of Witherlea

Friends of Witherlea (FOW) is the name of Witherlea School’s Parent group. Essentially, FOW is a group of parents and caregivers of Witherlea school children who wish to be involved in special events and fundraising. The main goal is to promote a connected, well-resourced and thriving community at Witherlea School. The group is a great way to get to know other parents, staff members of the school and of course the students.

The Society is established and maintained exclusively for charitable purposes, namely advancing education by:

– Encouraging parents/caregivers to be involved in the education of their children. Providing a link between students, parents/caregivers and the school.

– Raising funds to help provide improved facilities and educational opportunities for members of the school community in relation to Witherlea School only. Funds raised will be donated once a term in an amount determined by the Executive Committee to the Witherlea School Board of Trustees (BOT) for the distribution as the BOT sees fit.

Throughout the year there will be opportunities to be part of Friends of Witherlea Core Committee (elected at the AGM in February each year), sub-committees formed to help run the larger events and simple volunteering roles which arise each month. The group meets 1-2 times per term with reminders about these meetings in the school bulletin and via the school app.
